Episode five of UCG’s Explore Europe one minute tours – this week we are heading to Garmisch-Partenkirchen in Bavaria.
Home to the Zugspitze, the tallest mountain in Germany, Garmisch-Partenkirchen is one of the most popular spots for Americans to visit. The town is super friendly to military members – you’ll find english-speakers throughout, lots of lovely local restaurants serving delicious Bavarian specialities and several lively bars and clubs for night owls. But it’s the gorgeous ski slopes and super-friendly ski schools that hold the most appeal. It’s a must-visit whilst you are stationed in Europe.
On your way home you can call into the famous Neuschwanstein Castle, the inspiration for Disney’s castle, but you will see the real thing. Or drop into Munich and check-out the famous Brauhaus!
