I’ve just returned from the Marathon des Alpes-Maritimes in Nice, France. I ran with with a good buddy who flew over from England to join me. It was his first marathon (my sixth!) and we ran it in memory of his father who passed away earlier this year.
It was a terrific event. Really well organised, glorious weather and a spectacular route – it started it Nice and then took us along the coastal road to finish in Cannes. Oh la la!
Even if you are not a runner, I highly recommend a weekend away to Nice. And if you are looking for some Autumn sun, now is a great time to go! It was 17-19 C when we were there; perfect weather for a nice stroll on the Riviera.
I flew from Frankfurt to Nice with Lufthansa, which took just 90 minutes. Nice old town is just 15 minutes from the airport.
And if you are a runner, then come and join me for my next marathon in April… in London!
