It’s Time for Winter Tires
The weather changes fast in here Europe – it’s sunny today but could snow tomorrow, so its time to start preparing for whats around the corner. “O bis O” or “Oktober bis Ostern” (October till Easter) is when the Germans recommend you change your summer tires for the winter set.
Driving in Winter means being prepared for all conditions – from black ice to heavy snowfall. Whilst the roads are well maintained in Germany, the weather is unpredictable and the road conditions can change very quickly. You need to ensure your tires are suitable for these hazardous conditions so that means getting prepared – NOW!
Why Change for Winter Tires?
In fact most insurance companies insist on at least all-season tires during the winter months, but going for a full set of winter tires is the smartest choice for control, safety and peak performance.
The compound on a winter tire ensures the rubber stays soft and flexible in order to perform better in low temperatures and icy road conditions. This is essential to staying safe not just on the autobahn here in Germany, but the smaller roads too – many of which do not get gritted and cleared early in the mornings when you are heading to work.
So to summarise, you need winter tires for better control, better safety, better performance. Keeping your family safe whilst on the roads in Germany is your number one priority and it’s ours too.
